Even though email is used for official communication with our members, be sure to check out our Facebook page. This is a great place to learn of club and member activities and to see some great photos and videos.
Our members can post on our FB page...
... and do. Sometimes to share photos and information, or they might be looking for someone to join them for a paddle or to meet with others to practice.
That includes some pretty regular informal practice sessions held on most Tuesday and Thursday nights. These can be a great opportunity to meet other members.
In the winter they are held at the Campbell River Pool and in summer you can find us at the Estuary. It can be a fun time and a great opportunity to practice your skills and get some tips from other paddlers.
The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever. (Jacques Cousteau)
Campbell River Paddlers is incorporated under the Societies Act of British Columbia. The club has roughly 45 members of all skill levels and is a very informal and fun place to meet other paddlers.
We have organized paddles on Wednesday afternoons or evenings twice a month from April through September along with day paddles on the weekends. We usually have a weekend get together at the start and end of each season and several social events throughout the summer. The annual schedule is posted on our website and trip information is emailed to members a few days before each activity.
We are a peer paddling club. Members are responsible for their own safety when participating in our trips. We do not have guides or leaders qualified to be responsible for others. Members volunteering to coordinate trips are not expected to be expert paddlers or leaders.
In club training is not provided but members are encouraged to take advantage of the classes offered in the area.
